Axelos recently launched its last two ITIL 4 Managing Professional stream modules; ITIL 4 Drive Stakeholder Value and ITIL 4 High Velocity IT. With the publication of these two modules, the ITIL 4 Managing Professional stream is now completely available. The ITIL 4 Managing Professional stream targets professionals that work with technology and digital teams across a wide range of businesses. The ITIL 4 Managing Professional Stream provides practical and technical knowledge about how to successfully run IT projects, teams and workflows. ITIL 4 Drive Stakeholder Value This module includes all types of stakeholder engagement and interaction between a service provider and their customers, users, suppliers and partners. The aim of the ITIL 4 Drive Stakeholder Value module is to focus on the conversion of demand into value through IT services. It helps professionals to always keep the customer and their customer journey in mind when developing their services. For the first time in ITIL, we are seeing users and creators being included in multi-dependent workflows and systems. The module provides tools to improve stakeholder satisfaction, which is essential for the success of businesses in their current competitive landscape. Those with a certification in ITIL 4 Drive Stakeholder Value are able to:
  • Influence stakeholders
  • Stimulate a culture based on transparency and collaboration
  • Ensure that customers demands are met
  • Create a great customer experience

ITIL 4 High Velocity IT This module focuses on preparing professionals and businesses to remain relevant in an always changing digital landscape.The High Velocity IT module helps to distinguish between IT transformation and digital transformation. The module uses ITIL-principles to optimize and demonstrate how organisational improvements are tailored to create a high-speed environment. The module helps professionals to put practices such as Agile, DevOps and Lean together with technologies such as Cloud, Automation and advanced analytical methods to a holistic and integrated approach. Those with a certification in ITIL 4 High Velocity IT are able to:
  • Be successful and limiting risks in high speed environments
  • Improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with Agile, DevOps and Lean
  • Help digital transformations

You got ITIL 4 Foundation certification. What about other ITIL v4 modules?

After obtaining the ITIL 4 Foundation certification, continue your ITIL journey with three different paths:

    1. ITIL Managing Professional (ITIL MP)
    2. ITIL Strategic Leader (ITIL SL)
    3. ITIL Pratice Manager (ITIL PM)
The final designation, ITIL Master, will be awarded to candidates who achieve the Practice Manager (PM), Managing Professionals (MP) and Strategic Leader (SL). ITIL4 Certification Scheme_Practice Manager 1. The Managing Professional stream provides practical and technical knowledge about how to run successful IT-enabled services, teams and workflows. ITIL 4 Managing Professional consists of four modules:
  1. ITIL Specialist: Create, Deliver & Support
  2. ITIL Specialist: Drive Stakeholder Value
  3. ITIL Specialist: High Velocity IT
  4. ITIL Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve (common module between ITIL SL and ITIL MP)
2. The Strategic Leader stream recognizes the value of ITIL, not just for IT operations, but for all digitally-enabled services. Becoming an ITIL SL demonstrates that the individual has a clear understanding of how IT influences and directs business strategy. ITIL 4 Strategic Leader consists of two modules:
  1. ITIL Strategist: Direct, Plan & Improve (common module between ITIL SL and ITIL MP)
  2. ITIL Leader: Digital & IT Strategy
3. The individual practice courses are intended for professionals that want to prove and validate their skills in specific practice areas. To achieve the Practice Manager designation, you need to have completed 5 individual practices plus the ITIL Specialist: Create, Deliver and Support module (common module between ITIL MP and ITIL PM).

DevOps is a dynamic and ever-improving set of practices that emphasises collaboration and communication between software developers and other IT professionals. Automation Skills

A DevOps professional is aiming to reduce waste and improve speed along the software development process, and the automation is a  key skill to succeed. A Devops team member should also have knowledge around automation tools.

Process Skills

DevOps is Culture, so People and Process come first. This is the reason why Automation is important only if accompanied by working processes. DevOps professionals must have the capability to streamline processes to make them efficient. The key process skills are:
  • Software development life cycle
  • Understanding of process flow and analysis
  • Agile
  • Experience with test-driven deployment concepts and methods
  • System thinking

Soft Skills

DevOps is not just software or IT, DevOps is Individuals as part of a Team. Individuals need to get engaged and motivated, this is the reason why soft skills have been considered as must-have skills..  The key soft skills are:
  • Collaboration and cooperation
  • Problem-solving
  • interpersonal skills
  • sharing and knowledge transfer
  • personal value commitment
  • flexibility and adaptability
