ITIL 4 Foundation Course

The ITIL® Foundation course is designed for people who require a basic level of ITIL understanding.

The ITIL training introduces participants to the management of modern IT-enabled services and provides them with an understanding of the common language and key concepts.
The ITIL Foundation course shows participants how they can improve their work and the work of their organisation thanks to the ITIL 4 guidance. The ITIL Foundation course includes the ITIL Foundation exam.

The course is updated to the version 4 of the ITIL framework, that has followed ITIL v3 Foundation.

Following the completion of the course participants should be able to:

  • Understand the key concepts of Service Management
  • Understand how the ITIL guiding principles can help an organisation adopt and adapt service management
  • Understand the four dimensions of service management
  • Understand the purpose and components of the ITIL Service Value System
  • Understand the activities of the Service Value Chain, and how they interconnect
  • Know the purpose and terms of the 15 ITIL practices
  • Understand 7 ITIL practices
  • Pass the ITIL Foundation exam

  • Individuals at the start of their journey in Service Management
  • ITSM Managers and aspiring ITSM Managers
  • Individuals working in other parts of “IT” (digital, product, development) with strong interface with service delivery
  • Existing ITIL qualification holders wishing to update their knowledge.

  • 1 hour (75 minutes for non-native speakers)
  • 40 questions
  • Objective Test Questions
  • 65% pass mark
  • Closed book

Upon successful completion of the exam and following confirmation of the results, the participants will receive a unique, secure and auditable electronic certificate from PeopleCert.
The certification ITIL 4 Foundation is mandatory to access the further ITIL 4 modules which require candidates’ ability to apply the ITIL framework key concepts in a working environment.

It is desirable, but not essential, that participants have some experience in IT Service management. Some pre-read material is provided prior to the training and is expected to be fully read before attending the course.

  • ITIL 4 Foundation Material

The material includes the official ITIL Foundation digital manual, case study, exercises and solutions, ITIL Glossary, Foundation test-exams and hints & tips for the Foundation Examination.
