PRINCE2 Foundation Training and Certification

The PRINCE2® Project Management Foundation course is designed for people who require a general level of PRINCE2 understanding.

PRINCE2 Foundation aims to ensure that a candidate could act as an informed member and contributor of a project management team using the PRINCE2 method, within an environment supporting PRINCE2. To this end they need to show they understand the principles and terminology of the method in order to get the PRINCE2 Foundation certification.

Following the completion of the PRINCE2 Foundation course participants should:

  • Understand key concepts relating to projects and PRINCE2
  • Understand how the PRINCE2 principles underpin the PRINCE2 method
  • Understand the importance of people in successful projects
  • Understand the PRINCE2 practices and how they are carried out throughout the project
  • Pass the PRINCE2 Foundation exam

Upon successful completion of the exam and following confirmation of the results, the participants will receive a unique, secure and auditable electronic certificate from PeopleCert.

It is desirable, but not essential, that participants have some work-experience on projects. Some pre-read material is provided prior to the training and is expected to be fully read before attending the course.

The course preparation materials include a structured Pre-Course Study Guide – available online

  • PRINCE2 Foundation Material

The material includes the official Manual*, case study, exercises and solutions, PRINCE2 Glossary, Foundation test-exams and hints & tips for the Foundation Examination.

*Digital manual for virtual courses, paper manual for classroom courses.

  • 1 year of PeopleCert Membership

The Membership includes learning assets like templates, reports and the free download of Standards and Guides (including ITIL and PPM guides).
