P3O Practitioner Course

The P3O® Practitioner course provides an opportunity to apply the concepts of the P3O guidance to a scenario.

The purpose of the Practitioner certification is to confirm whether a candidate has achieved sufficient knowledge and understanding of the P3O guidance to design, implement, manage or work within any component office of a P3O model. After the course, a candidate will have an overall understanding of the elements, roles, functions and tools & techniques used in a generalised P3O model.

Objectives

Following the completion of the P3O Practitioner course participants should be able to:

Develop the business case for the P3O required to obtain senior management approval
Identify and build the most appropriate P3O model that adapts to the organisation’s needs, taking account of the organisation’s size and portfolio, programme and project management maturity
Identify the most appropriate roles required to populate a specified P3O structure
Plan the implementation of a P3O
Choose and use appropriate tools and techniques while running the P3O and advising those who shape the portfolio of programmes and projects
Pass the P3O Practitioner exam.

P3O Practitioner Exam

2,5 hours
4 questions (20 points per question)
Objective Test Questions based on a case study scenario
50% pass mark
Open book (P3O manual only)

Upon successful completion of the exam and following confirmation of the results, the participants will receive a unique, secure and auditable electronic certificate from PeopleCert.

Prerequisites

Some pre-read material is provided prior to the training and is expected to be fully read and studied before attending the course. To take the P3O Practitioner exam you must provide proof of having passed the P3O Foundation exam.
